Educational Q&A

Even the smallest selfish motive can lead to grave wrongdoing: greed corrupts fairness, destroys trust, and can cause the ruin of another’s rightful wealth. Dharma requires integrity especially in judgment and mediation.

Śakra describes a common ethical failure in disputes over wealth: when ownership is uncertain and a person seeks help from a friend to resolve it through a council, the friend—tempted by a tiny personal advantage—may act unjustly and cause the person’s property to be lost.
