Varāha-avatāra: Viṣṇu’s subterranean intervention and the cosmic nāda (Śānti-parva 202)
यथा हि वक्रित् सुकृतैर्मनुष्य: शुभाशुभं प्राप्रुतेडथाविरोधात् । एवं शरीरेषु शुभाशुभेषु स्वकर्मजैज्ञानमिदं निबद्धम्
yathā hi vakrit sukṛtair manuṣyaḥ śubhāśubhaṃ prāprute ’thāvirodhāt | evaṃ śarīreṣu śubhāśubheṣu svakarmajair jñānam idaṃ nibaddham ||
ພີດສະມະກ່າວວ່າ: «ເຫມືອນຄົນຜູ້ໜຶ່ງ ໂດຍກຳທີ່ເຄີຍເຮັດໄວ້ ຈຳເປັນຕ້ອງປະສົບຜົນດີແລະຜົນຮ້າຍ ໃນສະຖານທີ່ແລະເວລາທີ່ແຕກຕ່າງ ໂດຍບໍ່ມີຄວາມຂັດແຍ້ງ, ຢ່າງນັ້ນເຊັ່ນກັນ ໃນຮ່າງກາຍທີ່ສູງຫຼືຕ່ຳຕາມກຳຂອງຕົນ ຫຼັກການແຫ່ງຄວາມຮູ້ສຶກຮູ້ (ຈິດຮູ້) ນີ້ຍັງຖືກຜູກພັນແລະສະຖິດຢູ່ ໂດຍບໍ່ຂັດແຍ້ງ».
भीष्म उवाच
Karmic actions inevitably yield corresponding good or bad results across different times and places, and the conscious knowing principle remains present even as one takes higher or lower bodies shaped by one’s own karma.
In the Shanti Parva’s instruction on dharma and liberation, Bhishma continues teaching by using an analogy: as karmic fruits are experienced without inconsistency, so consciousness/knowledge persists within embodied existence while beings move through various births determined by their deeds.
