मृत्यु-काल-प्रबोधनम् (Instruction on Mortality, Time, and Truth) — Mahābhārata, Śānti-parva 169

प्रादात्‌ तस्मै स विप्राय वस्त्र च सदृशं॑ नवम्‌ । नारीं चापि वयोपेतां भर्त्रां विरहितां तथा,ब्राह्मणने उसीके घर जाकर भिक्षाके लिये याचना की। दस्युने ब्राह्मणको रहनेके लिये एक घर देकर वर्षभर निर्वाह करनेके योग्य अन्नकी भिक्षाका प्रबन्ध कर दिया, उपयुक्त नया वस्त्र दिया और उसकी सेवामें एक युवती दासी भी दे दी, जो उस समय पतिसे रहित थी

prādāt tasmai sa viprāya vastraṃ ca sadṛśaṃ navam | nārīṃ cāpi vayopetāṃ bhartṛ-vihitāṃ tathā ||

ດາສຍຸນັ້ນໄດ້ໃຫ້ເສື້ອຜ້າໃໝ່ທີ່ເໝາະສົມແກ່ພຣາຫມັນ. ນອກນັ້ນຍັງມອບແມ່ຍິງຜູ້ເຕັມວັຍຄົນໜຶ່ງ—ໃນເວລານັ້ນບໍ່ມີຜົວ—ໃຫ້ຢູ່ຮັບໃຊ້ດ້ວຍ.
