Mutual Causality of Ignorance and Greed
पुण्यमाहु: कुरुक्षेत्रं कुरुक्षेत्रात् सरस्वतीम् । सरस्वत्याश्ष तीर्थानि तीर्थभ्यश्व पृथूदकम्
puṇyam āhuḥ kurukṣetraṁ kurukṣetrāt sarasvatīm | sarasvatyāś ca tīrthāni tīrthebhyaś ca pṛthūdakam ||
ຊາວນະກະ ກ່າວວ່າ: «ເຂົາກ່າວວ່າ ກຸຣຸເກສະຕຣະ ເປັນດິນແດນສັກສິດ; ສັກສິດກວ່າກຸຣຸເກສະຕຣະ ແມ່ນແມ່ນ້ຳ ສະຣັສວະຕີ; ສັກສິດກວ່າແມ່ນ້ຳ ສະຣັສວະຕີ ອີກ ແມ່ນບັນດາຕີຣຖະ (ທ່ານ້ຳສັກສິດ) ທີ່ຢູ່ຕາມແມ່ນ້ຳນັ້ນ; ແລະໃນບັນດາຕີຣຖະເຫຼົ່ານັ້ນ ປຣຶຖູດະກະ (Pṛthūdaka) ຖືກສັນລະເສີນວ່າ ຍອດຢ່າງຍິ່ງ».

Holiness is presented as a hierarchy recognized by tradition: a sacred region (Kurukṣetra), a still more sanctifying river (Sarasvatī), the river’s specific tīrthas, and finally a preeminent tīrtha (Pṛthūdaka).
