Educational Q&A

Right conduct (dharma-based ācāra) yields a double fruit: social honor and well-being in this life, and great merit and reward in the next; good deeds themselves become a form of protection.

In the Shanti Parva’s instruction section, Bhishma continues advising Yudhishthira on dharma, explaining the tangible and transcendent outcomes of virtuous behavior—respect among people now and great results after death.
