Kośa, Bala, and Maryādā: Treasury, Capacity, and Enforceable Limits (कोश-बल-मर्यादा)
भीष्मजीने कहा--धर्मनन्दन! भरतश्रेष्ठ युधिष्ठिर! यह तो तुमने मुझसे बड़ा गोपनीय विषय पूछा है। यदि तुम्हारे द्वारा प्रश्न न किया गया होता तो मैं इस समय इस संकटकालिक धर्मके विषयमें कुछ भी नहीं कह सकता था ।।
bhīṣma uvāca—dharmo hīyān vacanād buddhiś ca bharatarṣabha | śrutvopāsyatha sadācāraiḥ sādhur bhavati sa kvacit, bharatabhūṣaṇa ||
ພີສະມະ ກ່າວວ່າ: «ໂອ ບຸດແຫ່ງທຳ, ໂອ ຢຸທິສຖິຣະ ຜູ້ປະເສີດໃນວົງພັນບາຣະຕະ—ເຈົ້າໄດ້ຖາມຂ້າພະເຈົ້າເຖິງເລື່ອງທີ່ລຶກລັບຢ່າງຍິ່ງ. ຖ້າເຈົ້າບໍ່ໄດ້ຖາມ ຂ້າພະເຈົ້າກໍບໍ່ອາດເວົ້າເຖິງທຳສຳລັບຍາມວິກິດນີ້ໄດ້. ໂອ ເຄື່ອງປະດັບແຫ່ງບາຣະຕະ—ທຳນັ້ນລະອຽດລຶກຊຶ້ງ; ຄວາມເຂົ້າໃຈເກີດຈາກການພິຈາລະນາຖ້ອຍຄຳໃນຄຳພີ. ແຕ່ຜູ້ທີ່ຫຼັງຈາກໄດ້ຟັງຄຳພີແລ້ວ ຍັງປະພຶດຕາມດ້ວຍຄວາມມີວິໄນແຫ່ງຄວາມດີ ແລະດຳລົງຊີວິດເປັນຄົນດີແທ້—ມີຢູ່ແຕ່ຫາຍາກຍິ່ງ»។
