धर्म: सत्यं तथा वृत्तं बल॑ं चैव तथाप्यहम् । शीलमूला महाप्राज्ञ सदा नास्त्यत्र संशय:
dharmaḥ satyaṃ tathā vṛttaṃ balaṃ caiva tathāpy aham | śīlamūlā mahāprājña sadā nāsty atra saṃśayaḥ ||
ພຣາຫມັນກ່າວວ່າ: «ທຳມະ, ຄວາມຈິງ, ຄວາມປະພຶດຖືກຕ້ອງ, ກຳລັງ—ແມ່ນແຕ່ຂ້າ (ລັກສະມີ, ສິຣີມົງຄຸນ/ຄວາມຮັ່ງມີ)—ທັງໝົດນີ້ລ້ວນອາໄສຢູ່ເທິງ śīla (ຄຸນຄວາມດີ/ອຸປນິສັຍ). ໂອ ຜູ້ມີປັນຍາຍິ່ງ, śīla ແມ່ນຮາກຖານຂອງທຸກຢ່າງ—ບໍ່ມີຄວາມສົງໄສ»។
