Duryodhana-vadha-pratikriyā: Harṣa, Nindā, and Kṛṣṇa’s Nīti-vyākhyā (Śalya-parva 60)
संजय उवाच इत्युक्ते धर्मराजेन वासुदेवो<ब्रवीदिदम् । काममस्त्वेतदिति वै कृच्छाद् यदुकुलोद्धह:
sañjaya uvāca | ity ukte dharmarājena vāsudevo 'bravīd idam | kāmam astv etad iti vai kṛcchrād yadukuloddhahaḥ ||
ສັນຊະຍະກ່າວວ່າ: ເມື່ອທັມມະຣາຊາໄດ້ກ່າວດັ່ງນັ້ນ ວາສຸເທວະ—ພຣະກຣິດສະນະ ຜູ້ສູງສຸດໃນວົງຍະດຸ—ກໍຕອບດ້ວຍຄວາມອຶດອັດວ່າ «ດີແລ້ວ; ໃຫ້ເປັນໄປຕາມປະສົງຂອງທ່ານ».
संजय उवाच
Even a wise guide may assent only with inner strain when a request, though acceptable in form, carries heavy ethical consequences. The verse highlights that dharma is not always emotionally effortless; sometimes right action involves reluctant acceptance shaped by duty and circumstance.
After Dharmarāja (Yudhiṣṭhira) speaks—making a request or proposal—Kṛṣṇa (Vāsudeva), described as the foremost of the Yadus, responds. He agrees, but the word kṛcchrāt indicates he does so with difficulty, suggesting the situation is morally or strategically weighty.
