शल्यस्य सेनापत्याभ्युपगमः | Śalya’s Acceptance of Command
न तु सन्धिमहं मन्ये प्राप्तकालं कथडठ्चन । “आपने स्नेहवश हितकी ही बात कही है। आपकी इस बातमें मैं दोष नहीं निकालता और न इसकी निन्दा ही करता हूँ। मेरा कथन तो इतना ही है कि अब किसी प्रकार सन्धिका अवसर नहीं रह गया है। मेरी ऐसी ही मान्यता है
na tu sandhim ahaṃ manye prāptakālaṃ kathaṃcana |
ສັນຊະຍະ ກ່າວວ່າ: «ແຕ່ຂ້າພະເຈົ້າບໍ່ເຫັນວ່າ ບັດນີ້ຈະມີທາງເຮັດສັນຕິສັນຍາໄດ້—ບໍ່ວ່າດ້ວຍວິທີໃດກໍຕາມ—ເພາະເວລາຕັດສິນໄດ້ມາເຖິງແລ້ວ. ເຈົ້າໄດ້ເວົ້າຄໍາທີ່ເປັນປະໂຫຍດດ້ວຍຄວາມເມດຕາ; ຂ້າພະເຈົ້າບໍ່ຫາຄວາມຜິດໃນຄໍານັ້ນ ແລະບໍ່ຕໍານິ. ຂ້າພະເຈົ້າພຽງແຕ່ກ່າວວ່າ: ໂອກາດແຫ່ງການປອງດອງໄດ້ຜ່ານພົ້ນໄປແລ້ວ».
