Chapter 23: Śakuni Reports, Kaurava Advance, and Arjuna’s Penetration of the Host
रथान् सप्तशतान् हत्वा कुरूणामाततायिनाम् | पाण्डवा: सह पज्चालै: पुनरेवाभ्यवारयन्,उस समय पांचालोंसहित पाण्डवोंने आततायी कौरवोंके उन सात सौ रथियोंको मारकर पुन: अन्य योद्धाओंको आगे बढ़नेसे रोका
rathān saptśatān hatvā kurūṇām ātatāyinām | pāṇḍavāḥ saha pāñcālaiḥ punar evābhyavārayann ||

संजय उवाच
The verse frames the enemy as ātatāyin—violent aggressors—implying that force used to stop unlawful aggression can be aligned with dharma. It also highlights restraint-through-strength: defeating attackers to prevent further advance and harm.
Sañjaya reports that the Pāṇḍavas, supported by the Pāñcālas, killed seven hundred Kuru chariot-warriors and then halted the remaining enemy forces from moving forward, stabilizing the battle line.
