संछाद्य समरे शल्यं नकुल: परवीरहा । विव्याध चैनं दशभि: स्मयमान: स्तनान्तरे,शत्रुवीरोंका संहार करनेवाले नकुलने समरांगणमें शल्यको शरसमूहोंद्वारा आच्छादित करके मुसकराते हुए उनकी छातीमें दस बाण मारे
sañchādya samare śalyaṃ nakulaḥ paravīrahā | vivyādha cainaṃ daśabhiḥ smayamānaḥ stanāntare ||

संजय उवाच
The verse highlights kṣatriya-dharma in practice: disciplined courage and mental steadiness in battle. Nakula’s smile signals composure and confidence, suggesting that a warrior’s duty is performed with control and focus rather than uncontrolled rage.
Sañjaya describes Nakula engaging Śalya on the battlefield: first overwhelming him by ‘covering’ him with many arrows, then delivering a precise volley of ten arrows to Śalya’s chest.
