Duryodhana’s Final Condition, Lamentation, and the Night’s Report
धिगस्तु कृतवर्माणं मां कृपं च महारथम्
dhig astu kṛtavarmāṇaṁ māṁ kṛpaṁ ca mahāratham
ສັນຊະຍະ ກ່າວວ່າ: “ຂໍໃຫ້ຄວາມອັບອາຍຕົກແກ່ ກຣິຕະວັຣມາ—ແລະແກ່ຂ້າພະເຈົ້າດ້ວຍ—ແລະແກ່ ກຣິປາ ນັກຮົບລົດສົງຄາມຜູ້ຍິ່ງໃຫຍ່!” ໃນຂະນະທີ່ຈິດໃຈຖອຍກັບທາງສິນທຳນີ້ ຜູ້ເວົ້າໄດ້ປະນາມຜູ້ກໍ່ການ (ຮວມທັງຕົນເອງ) ຕໍ່ການກະທຳທີ່ຖືກເຫັນວ່າຕ່ຳຊ້າຕາມຈັນຍາບັນນັກຮົບ, ເປັນຄຳຕັດສິນທາງຈິດທຳອັນແຮງກ້າທ່າມກາງຜົນພິບັດຫຼັງຄືນແຫ່ງຄວາມຮຸນແຮງ.
संजय उवाच
Even in war, actions can be judged against dharma; this line voices moral condemnation and self-implication, highlighting accountability and the sense that certain deeds—especially those seen as treacherous or ignoble—bring disgrace.
During the Sauptika Parva’s aftermath of the night events, Sañjaya reports a reaction of censure: he denounces Kṛtavarmā and Kṛpa and includes himself in the blame, signaling that what occurred is viewed as shameful despite the wartime setting.
