Dyūta-kathā-praśnaḥ — Inquiry into the Dice-Game Calamity
एवं मे वर्तमानस्य स्वसुतेष्वितरेषु च । भेदो न भविता लोके भेदमूलो हि विग्रह:
evaṁ me vartamānasya svasuteṣv itareṣu ca | bhedo na bhavitā loke bhedamūlo hi vigrahaḥ ||
«ຖ້າຂ້າພະເຈົ້າປະພຶດຕົນແບບນີ້ ກໍຈະບໍ່ມີການລຳອຽງຈາກຂ້າພະເຈົ້າ—ທັງຕໍ່ລູກຊາຍຂອງຕົນ ແລະຕໍ່ຜູ້ອື່ນ. ເພາະໃນໂລກນີ້ ຄວາມຂັດແຍ້ງແລະການວິວາດ ເກີດຈາກການແບ່ງແຍກແລະການເລືອກປະຕິບັດເທົ່ານັ້ນ».
वैशम्पायन उवाच
The verse teaches that impartiality—especially by those in authority—prevents social conflict, because quarrels and hostility are fundamentally rooted in bheda (discriminatory division and favoritism).
Vaiśampāyana reports a speaker’s resolve to behave with equal regard toward his own sons and others, emphasizing that avoiding favoritism is necessary to prevent disputes in the world.
