वैशम्पायन उवाच
A righteous ruler evaluates resources responsibly and directs wealth toward dharmic, socially beneficial acts—here, the resolve to perform yajña—showing restraint and prioritizing public duty over personal consumption.
Vaiśampāyana narrates that King Yudhiṣṭhira first assesses the extent of his stores and treasury, and then firmly decides to undertake a sacrificial rite, indicating preparation and intentional commitment to a major dharmic undertaking.
