Arjuna’s evacuation of Dvārakā, Vasudeva’s rites, and the caravan’s crisis
कृतकृत्यानि चास्त्राणि गतान्यद्य यथागतम्
kṛtakṛtyāni cāstrāṇi gatāny adya yathāgatam

व्यास उवाच
Even the most formidable powers—especially weapons and violent means—are ultimately temporary and purposive: once their destined function is completed, they withdraw. The verse hints at ethical restraint and the inevitability of closure after conflict.
Vyāsa remarks that the astras (weapons/missiles) have completed their appointed task and have now departed, returning to their origin in the same way they appeared—signaling the winding down of destructive forces in the Mausala Parva context.
