वैशम्पायन उवाच
The verse highlights the ethical tension of power: even in organized movement, the presence of concealed or ready weapons shows how quickly order can turn into conflict. It reflects the Mahābhārata’s recurring warning that when distrust and martial preparedness dominate, violence becomes easier to ignite and harder to restrain.
A group proceeds mounted on massive elephants, accompanied by foot-guards and carrying weapons under cover/at the ready. The description sets a tense, militarized atmosphere, suggesting preparation for danger or confrontation rather than a peaceful journey.
