ततो जाल॑ बाणमयं महान्तं सर्वेडद्राक्षु; कुरव: सोमकाश्व । नानन््यं च भूतं ददृशुस्तदा ते बाणान्धकारे तुमुलेडथ किंचित् ७ ।। तदनन्तर समस्त कौरवों और सोमकोंने भी देखा कि वहाँ बाणोंका विशाल जाल फैल गया है। बाणजनित उस भयानक अन्धकारमें उस समय उन्हें दूसरे किसी प्राणीका दर्शन नहीं होता था
tato jālaṃ bāṇamayaṃ mahāntaṃ sarve dadṛkṣuḥ kuravaḥ somakāś ca | nānyaṃ ca bhūtaṃ dadṛśus tadā te bāṇāndhakāre tumule ’tha kiñcit || 7 ||
ຕໍ່ມາ ກຸຣຸທັງຫມົດ ແລະຊາວໂສມະກະ ໄດ້ເຫັນວ່າ ທີ່ນັ້ນມີຕາຂ່າຍລູກສອນອັນໃຫຍ່ຫຼວງແຜ່ກວ້າງອອກ. ໃນຄວາມມືດອັນຄຶກຄືນທີ່ເກີດຈາກລູກສອນນັ້ນ ໃນຂະນະນັ້ນ ພວກເຂົາບໍ່ເຫັນສິ່ງມີຊີວິດອື່ນໃດເລີຍ—ມີແຕ່ຄວາມມືດທີ່ສົງຄາມສ້າງຂຶ້ນ ບັງຕາ ແລະກືນກິນຄວາມແນ່ໃຈ.
