Educational Q&A

The verse highlights the importance of prāptakāla—timely, situation-appropriate counsel. In a dharmic context, wisdom is shown not only in knowing what is right, but in speaking and acting at the right moment so that right action becomes possible amid crisis.

Sañjaya narrates that after Arjuna speaks, Kṛṣṇa responds. The line serves as a transition: it introduces Kṛṣṇa’s forthcoming instruction to Arjuna, characterizing it as wise and timely within the unfolding battle of the Karṇa Parva.
