ततः प्रासृजदुग्राणि शरवर्षाणि संघश: । तैर्विसृष्टर्महाराज व्यद्रवत् पाण्डवी चमू:,महाराज! तत्पश्चात् वह समूह-के-समूह भयंकर बाणोंकी वर्षा करने लगा। उसके छोड़े हुए बाणोंसे व्यथित हो पाण्डव-सेना भागने लगी
tataḥ prāsṛjad ugrāṇi śaravarṣāṇi saṅghaśaḥ | tair visṛṣṭair mahārāja vyadravat pāṇḍavī camūḥ ||
ຕໍ່ຈາກນັ້ນ ເຂົາໄດ້ປ່ອຍຝົນລູກສອນອັນດຸຮ້າຍເປັນກຸ່ມໆຢ່າງໜາແນ້ນ. ໂອ້ ພະມະຫາກະສັດ, ກອງທັບປານດະວະ ຖືກລູກສອນເຫຼົ່ານັ້ນກະທົບຈົນຫວາດຫວັນ ແລະແຕກກະຈາຍຫນີໄປ.
संजय उवाच

Sañjaya reports to Dhṛtarāṣṭra that a warrior (implied from context) releases fierce, massed volleys of arrows. Under that intense barrage, the Pāṇḍava troops are distressed and begin to flee.
