The verse highlights the terrifying collective momentum of war: individual acts (arrows, cries, chariots) merge into an overwhelming din. Ethically, it invites reflection on how conflict amplifies aggression and pride, and how quickly human valor can become inseparable from destruction.
Sañjaya describes the battlefield at a climactic moment: arrows are showering down, elephants trumpet, horses neigh, chariots thunder, and warriors shout their battle-cries, producing a dreadful roar that fills the scene.
