कर्णेन युधिष्ठिरानीकविदारणम् / Karṇa’s Breach of Yudhiṣṭhira’s Battle-Line
निपातात्तव शस्त्राणां शरीरे याभवद् रुजा | तया ते मानुषं कर्म व्यपोर्द भूगुनन्दन,गृहाणास्त्राणि दिव्यानि मत्सकाशाद् यथेप्सितम् । उन्होंने कहा--'भृगुनन्दन! दैत्योंके अस्त्र-शस्त्रोंके आघातसे तुम्हारे शरीरमें जो चोट पहुँची है, उससे तुम्हारा मानवोचित कर्म नष्ट हो गया (अब तुम देवताओंके ही समान हो गये); अतः मुझसे अपनी इच्छाके अनुसार दिव्यास्त्र ग्रहण करो”
nipātāt tava śastrāṇāṃ śarīre yābhavad rujā | tayā te mānuṣaṃ karma vyapod bhṛgunandana, gṛhāṇāstrāṇi divyāni matsakāśād yathepsitam ||
ພຣະມະເຫສະວະຣະກ່າວວ່າ: “ໂອ ຜູ້ສືບສາຍພຣະພຣຶກຸ! ບາດແຜທີ່ເກີດໃນກາຍເຈົ້າ ຈາກການກະທົບຂອງອາວຸດພວກໄດຕະຍະ ໄດ້ລຶບລ້າງຂໍ້ຈຳກັດແຫ່ງກຳມະຂອງມະນຸດສຳລັບເຈົ້າ—ດັ່ງນັ້ນເຈົ້າຈຶ່ງເທົ່າທຽມເທວະ. ດັ່ງນັ້ນ ຈົ່ງຮັບຈາກເຮົາ ຕາມທີ່ເຈົ້າປາດຖະໜາ ອາສະຕຣາແລະອາວຸດທິບພະ.”
महेश्वर उवाच
The verse frames suffering and trial—here, being struck by formidable foes—as a transformative threshold: the hero’s former ‘human’ limitation is said to be removed, making him fit to receive higher, divine instruments. Ethically, it presents divine weapons not as mere power but as a trust granted when one is deemed spiritually and existentially prepared.
Maheśvara addresses Bhṛgu’s descendant after he has been wounded by the Daityas’ weapons. Declaring that this ordeal has elevated him beyond ordinary human status, Maheśvara invites him to take whatever divine astras he desires directly from him.
