Chapter 79
विशालाक्षं सुकेशान्तं चारुवाक्यं सुगन्धि च । तव पुत्र कदा भूयो मुखं द्रक्ष्यामि निर्व्रणम्,“वत्स! बड़े-बड़े नेत्र, सुन्दर केशप्रान्त, मनोहर वाक्य और उत्तम सुगंधसे युक्त तुम्हारा घावरहित सुन्दर मुख मैं फिर कब देख पाऊँगी?
viśālākṣaṃ sukeśāntaṃ cāruvākyaṃ sugandhi ca | tava putra kadā bhūyo mukhaṃ drakṣyāmi nirvraṇam ||
ສັນຊະຍາກ່າວວ່າ: «ລູກເອີຍ, ເມື່ອໃດຂ້າຈຶ່ງຈະໄດ້ເຫັນໃບໜ້າອັນງາມ ແລະບໍ່ມີບາດແຜຂອງເຈົ້າອີກ—ຜູ້ມີດວງຕາກວ້າງ, ມີຜົມງາມລ້ອມກອບ, ວາຈາອ່ອນຫວານ ແລະກິ່ນຫອມອັນດີ?»
संजय उवाच
Even in a dharmic struggle, war inevitably inflicts intimate human suffering; the verse highlights the ethical cost of violence through a parent’s longing to see a child unharmed.
Sañjaya reports a lament addressed to a son, describing his attractive features and asking when his uninjured face will be seen again—an expression of fear and sorrow amid the ongoing battle in the Droṇa Parva.
