Even in war, uncontrolled anger and the use of overwhelming divine force signal a collapse of restraint; the colophon highlights that Aśvatthāman’s wrath becomes the moral driver of the episode, warning how passion can push conflict beyond dharmic limits.
This line functions as a chapter-ending colophon: it closes a section of the Droṇa Parva focused on the release of the Nārāyaṇa weapon and identifies the chapter’s theme as Aśvatthāman’s anger, marking a transition to the next narrative unit.
