True spiritual stature is not always recognized by the crowd. One who departs with yogic composure (yogayukta) may move toward a higher state (ūrdhvagati), yet ordinary observers—limited by grief, confusion, or worldly perception—fail to grasp that inner majesty.
Sañjaya reports to King Dhṛtarāṣṭra that Droṇācārya, described as wise and yoga-composed, is departing toward a higher course. Those around did not perceive or realize the greatness of his yogic departure, indicating a contrast between outward events of war and the inward spiritual condition of the departing teacher.
