द्वाभ्यां जातो हि मातृभ्यामर्धदेह: पृथक् पृथक् जरया संधितो यस्माज्जरासंधस्ततो5भवत्,उसका आधा-आधा शरीर अलग-अलग दो माताओंके पेटसे पैदा हुआ था। जराने उसे जोड़ा था; इसीलिये उसका नाम जरासंध हुआ
dvābhyāṁ jāto hi mātṛbhyām ardha-dehaḥ pṛthak pṛthak | jarayā sandhito yasmāj jarāsandhas tato 'bhavat ||
ເຂົາເກີດຈາກແມ່ສອງຄົນ ຮ່າງກາຍແບ່ງເປັນສອງຊິ້ນ ແຍກກັນຄົນລະຄື່ງ. ເພາະນາງເຖົ້າຊື່ “ຈະຣາ” ໄດ້ນຳສອງຄື່ງນັ້ນມາຕໍ່ກັນ ເຂົາຈຶ່ງໄດ້ຊື່ວ່າ “ຈະຣາສັນທະ”.
श्रीवायुदेव उवाच
The verse explains how a person’s name and identity can arise from a defining event: Jarāsandha is so called because Jarā physically united his two separated halves, making the name an ethical-narrative marker of origin and destiny.
Vāyu recounts Jarāsandha’s extraordinary birth: he was born in two halves from two mothers, and an old woman named Jarā joined the halves, after which he became known as Jarāsandha.
