अमोघशक्तिव्यंसनप्रश्नः — Why Karṇa’s Śakti Was Not Used on Arjuna
तत: कर्णस्य मिषतो द्रौणेर्दुयोधनस्य च । कृपस्य सोमदत्तस्य बाह्लीकस्य च पाण्डव:,तदनन्तर कर्ण, अश्वत्थामा, दुर्योधन, कृपाचार्य, सोमदत्त और बाह्लीकके देखते-देखते शत्रुदमन पाण्डुपुत्र भीमने वीर दुर्मद और दुष्कर्णके उस रथको लात मारकर धरतीमें धँसा दिया
tataḥ karṇasya miṣato drauṇer duryodhanasya ca | kṛpasya somadattasya bāhlīkasya ca pāṇḍavaḥ ||
ສັນຊະຍະ ກ່າວວ່າ: ແລ້ວ ໃນຂະນະທີ່ ກັນນະ, ອັສວັດຖາມາ (ລູກຂອງ ໂດຣນະ), ທຸຣະໂຢທະນະ, ກຣິປະ, ໂສມະດັດຕະ ແລະ ບາຫລີກະ ກຳລັງເບິ່ງຢູ່, ພີມະ ພານດະວະ—ຜູ້ປະລາບສັດຕູ—ໄດ້ຕີລົດຮົບຂອງ ທຸຣະມະດະ ແລະ ທຸສກັນນະ ໃຫ້ຈົມລົງໃນດິນ.
संजय उवाच
The verse highlights the harsh reality of kṣatriya warfare: reputation, alliances, and even the presence of mighty onlookers cannot shield a warrior from sudden reversal. It implicitly reflects on the ethical weight of war—valor operates within a field of inevitable suffering and swift consequences.
Sañjaya reports that Bhīma, in the midst of battle, disables the chariot of Durmada and Duṣkarṇa so decisively that it is described as being driven down into the earth, and this occurs in full view of Karṇa, Aśvatthāmā, Duryodhana, Kṛpa, Somadatta, and Bāhlīka.
