संजय उवाच
Even amid the moral chaos of war, the verse foregrounds a humane value: gratitude for survival and relief at the safe return of loved or valued warriors. The exclamation diṣṭyā frames safety not as mere prowess but as a fortunate outcome, encouraging humility and recognition of contingency.
Sañjaya addresses two warriors (in the dual), expressing joy that they have come back unharmed from the fighting. He praises them as foremost chariot-fighters and experts in battle, marking a moment of respite and reassurance within the larger war narrative of the Droṇa Parva.
