तथैव पाण्डवा राजन् सैन्येन महता वृता: । भीष्म संछादयामासुर्मेघा इव दिवाकरम्
tathaiva pāṇḍavā rājan sainyena mahatā vṛtāḥ | bhīṣmaṃ saṃchādayāmāsur meghā iva divākaram ||
ສັນຊະຍະ ກ່າວວ່າ: «ຂ້າແຕ່ພະຣາຊາ, ໃນທຳນອງດຽວກັນນັ້ນ ພວກປານດະວະ ຜູ້ຖືກຫ້ອມລ້ອມດ້ວຍກອງທັບອັນໃຫຍ່ຫຼວງ ໄດ້ຍິງຝົນລູກສອນອັນໜາແນ້ນ ປົກຄຸມພີດສະມະ ດັ່ງເມກປົກບັງພະອາທິດ»។
संजय उवाच
The verse highlights the overwhelming power of coordinated action in war and uses a natural simile to show that even a towering figure like Bhīṣma can be ‘veiled’ in battle; beneath the imagery lies the ethical strain of fighting a revered elder while still pursuing one’s perceived duty.
Sañjaya reports to King Dhṛtarāṣṭra that the Pāṇḍavas, backed by a large army, unleash such a mass of arrows that Bhīṣma is covered from view—like the sun hidden by clouds.
