तेषां तदभवद् युद्ध दशाहानि महात्मनाम् | कुरूणां पाण्डवानां च सुमहल्लोमहर्षणम्,उन महामनस्वी कौरवों और पाण्डवोंमें दस दिनोंतक महान् रोमांचकारी युद्ध हुआ
teṣāṃ tad abhavad yuddhaṃ daśāhāni mahātmanām | kurūṇāṃ pāṇḍavānāṃ ca sumahallomaharṣaṇam ||
ວາສຸເທວາ ກ່າວວ່າ: «ດັ່ງນັ້ນ ໃນບັນດານັກຮົບຜູ້ມີໃຈໃຫຍ່ເຫຼົ່ານັ້ນ ການຮົບພົບກັນໄດ້ເກີດຂຶ້ນຕໍ່ເນື່ອງ 10 ມື້—ລະຫວ່າງກຸຣຸ ແລະພານດະວະ—ເປັນສົງຄາມອັນໃຫຍ່ຫຼວງ ທີ່ເຮັດໃຫ້ຂົນລຸກ ດ້ວຍຄວາມຮຸນແຮງອັນມະຫາສານ ຊັກຊວນທັງຄວາມພິສົດແລະຄວາມຫວາດຫວັນ.»
