Merit of Ponds and Tree-Planting
जगमदग्निर्वाच स्थिरं चापि चल॑ चापि जाने त्वां ज्ञानचक्षुषा | अवश्यं विनयाधान कार्यमद्य मया तव
Jamadagnir uvāca: sthiraṁ cāpi calaṁ cāpi jāne tvāṁ jñānacakṣuṣā | avaśyaṁ vinayādhānaṁ kāryam adya mayā tava ||
ຈະມະດັກນິ ກ່າວວ່າ: «ບໍ່ວ່າເປົ້າໝາຍຂອງເຈົ້າຈະໝັ້ນຄົງ ຫຼື ສັ່ນຄອນກໍຕາມ, ຂ້ອຍຮູ້ຈັກເຈົ້າດ້ວຍດວງຕາແຫ່ງປັນຍາອັນແທ້—ເຈົ້າແມ່ນພຣະອາທິດ. ດັ່ງນັ້ນ ມື້ນີ້ຂ້ອຍຈຳເປັນຕ້ອງລົງວິໄນໃຫ້ເຈົ້າ ເພື່ອໃຫ້ເຈົ້າຕັ້ງຢູ່ໃນຄວາມຖ່ອມຕົນ ແລະ ຄວາມປະພຶດອັນຖືກຕ້ອງ».
भीष्म उवाच
Even when one possesses great power or brilliance (symbolized by the Sun), one must be guided by vinaya—humility and disciplined conduct; correction and restraint are presented as a legitimate duty when they establish ethical behavior.
Jamadagni addresses a being he identifies as the Sun through spiritual insight, and declares that he will impose discipline (a corrective measure) to instill proper humility and conduct.
