मांसपरिवर्जन-प्रशंसा (Praise of Abstention from Meat) / Ethics of Ahiṃsā in Diet and Rite

न्यायलब्धं प्रदातव्यं द्विजातिभ्योन्नमुत्तमम्‌ स्वाध्यायं समुपेते भ्य: प्रह्ष्टेनान्तरात्मना

yudhiṣṭhira uvāca | nyāyalabdhaṃ pradātavyaṃ dvijātibhyo 'nnam uttamam | svādhyāyaṃ samupetebhyaḥ prahṛṣṭenāntarātmanā ||

ຢຸທິສຖິຣະ ກ່າວວ່າ: ຄວນໃຫ້ທານອາຫານທີ່ດີທີ່ສຸດ ແກ່ພວກທະວິຊະ (ຜູ້ເກີດສອງຄັ້ງ) ດ້ວຍຊັບທີ່ໄດ້ມາໂດຍຄວາມຍຸດຕິທຳ ໂດຍສະເພາະແກ່ຜູ້ທີ່ອຸທິດຕົນໃນການສະວາດະຍາຍ (ການສຶກສາພຣະເວດ) ແລະໃຫ້ດ້ວຍໃຈຍິນດີຈາກພາຍໃນ. ທານຈຶ່ງເປັນທານທີ່ຖືກທຳມະແທ້ ເມື່ອທັງແຫຼ່ງທີ່ມາ (ຫາໄດ້ດ້ວຍທຳມະ) ແລະເຈດຕະນາ (ໃຫ້ດ້ວຍຄວາມຍິນດີ ແລະຄວາມເຄົາລົບ) ບໍລິສຸດ ແລະເປັນການອຸປະຖຳຜູ້ທີ່ມຸ່ງໝັ້ນໃນການຮຽນຮູ້ ແລະວິໄນທາງຈິດວິນຍານ.
