Śṛṅgī’s Curse on King Parikṣit

एषा नो नैछिकी बुद्धि: सर्वेषामीक्षणश्रव: । अथ यन्मन्यसे राजन टद्रुतं तत् संविधीयताम्
eṣā no naiṣṭhikī buddhiḥ sarveṣām īkṣaṇaśravaḥ | atha yan manyase rājan tad drutaṃ tat saṃvidhīyatām ||
“This is the settled resolve of us all, O Nāga-king famed for keen sight and hearing. Now, O king, whatever you judge to be right—let that be carried out swiftly.”
शेष उवाच
A community may arrive at a shared, firm conclusion, yet it still honors rightful leadership and discernment: once the wise leader determines the proper course (dharma-aligned), it should be implemented promptly and decisively.
Śeṣa speaks on behalf of the group, stating that everyone has reached a settled decision and urging the serpent-king—praised for sharp perception—to decide what should be done next and to have it executed without delay.
