वैशम्पायन उवाच दुर्योधनो युयुत्सुश्न राजन्‌ दुःशासनस्तथा । दुःसहो दुःशलश्चैव जलसंध: सम: सह:

vaiśampāyana uvāca

duryodhano yuyutsuś ca rājan duḥśāsanas tathā |

duḥsaho duḥśalaś caiva jalasaṃdhaḥ samaḥ sahaḥ ||

ໄວສັມປາຍະນະ (Vaiśampāyana) ກ່າວວ່າ: “ໂອ ພຣະຣາຊາ, ບຸດຂອງ ທຣິຕະຣາສະຕຣະ (Dhṛtarāṣṭra) ມີດັ່ງນີ້—ດຸຣະໂຢທະນະ (Duryodhana), ຢຸຢຸດສຸ (Yuyutsu), ແລະດຸຫະຊາສະນະ (Duḥśāsana); ອີກທັງ ດຸຫະສະຫະ (Duḥsaha), ດຸຫະຊະລະ (Duḥśala), ຈະລະສັນທະ (Jalasaṃdha), ສະມະ (Sama), ແລະ ສະຫະ (Saha).” ບັນຊີສາຍພົວພັນນີ້ເປັນການເລີ່ມນັບລຳດັບວົງສາກອຣະວະ (Kaurava), ຊີ້ນຳລ່ວງໜ້າວ່າ ເຄືອຂ່າຍຍາດພີ່ນ້ອງອັນກວ້າງໃຫຍ່—ຜູກພັນດ້ວຍກຳເນີດ ແຕ່ຕຶງຕັນດ້ວຍການແຂ່ງຂັນ—ຈະກາຍເປັນມວນມະນຸດຂອງ ອະທັມ (adharma) ແລະສົງຄາມ.
