Suta Goswami (narrating to the sages of Naimisharanya)
It shows that Shiva (Pati) may test the devotee’s offering; the essence of Linga-puja is unwavering bhakti and inner intention, not merely the external completeness of ritual items.
Shiva appears as Bhuvaneśvara—the sovereign Lord who can veil and reveal; as Pati he governs the play of concealment (tirodhāna) to mature the devotee’s consciousness toward surrender.
A puja-focused discipline: steadfast concentration and devotion when an offering is obstructed—an inner Pashupata attitude of unbroken remembrance despite external disruption.
