उमामहेश्वरव्रतं—पञ्चाक्षरमन्त्रस्य माहात्म्यं, न्यासः, जपविधिः, सदाचारः, विनियोगः
तेषां सृष्टिप्रसिद्ध्यर्थं मां प्रोवाच पितामहः मत्पुत्राणां महादेव शक्तिं देहि महेश्वर

It frames Śiva as the supreme Pati whose grace (śakti) alone makes any sacred action—including creation and, by extension, Linga-pūjā—fruitful and accomplished.
Śiva-tattva is shown as Maheśvara, the sovereign source of empowering potency; even Brahmā’s creative function depends on Śiva’s bestowed śakti, highlighting Śiva’s lordship beyond all secondary creators.
The key principle is anugraha (divine grace): in Pāśupata-oriented practice, success arises when Pati grants śakti that loosens pasha (bondage) and makes sādhana effective.
