FAQs

This verse presents śravaṇa as a direct spiritual means: through hearing, one gains closeness to Hari—here described as attaining him as a “friend,” indicating intimacy and grace born from devotional listening.

While not describing after-death stages, it highlights an inner path: devotional hearing transforms one’s relationship with the Divine, suggesting that right listening (to Hari’s glories) is a foundational practice that supports liberation-oriented living.

Regularly listen to authentic recitations and teachings of Vishnu/Krishna (nāma, stotra, purāṇic kathā); cultivate friendship-like devotion—trust, remembrance, and ethical conduct aligned with dharma.
