Sūta
Concept: True knowledge is ‘dehastha’—to be realized within the body through instruction and inner inquiry.
Vedantic Theme: Antaryamin/inner witness; knowledge as internal realization rather than external accumulation.
Application: Shift from mere textual learning to embodied practice—observe breath, channels, and awareness as the locus of instruction.
Primary Rasa: shanta
Secondary Rasa: adbhuta
Type: dialogue setting
Related Themes: Garuda Purana Jyotisha section colophon indicating completion (structural reference); Subsequent verses (1.67.2-4) detailing planetary-tattva and nāḍī correlations (immediate internal link)
This verse functions as a chapter colophon and transition marker, stating the chapter title and indicating the completion of the Jyotiḥ-śāstra portion before moving into the next topic.
It shows a chain of transmission: Hari (Viṣṇu) teaches, Hara (Śiva) listens and then instructs Gaurī, while Sūta narrates—typical of Purāṇic layered dialogues.
Treat knowledge as something to be internalized (‘dehastha’) rather than merely heard—apply teachings through disciplined living, reflection, and embodied practice.
