Nābhāga’s Inheritance, Śiva’s Verdict, and the Rise of Ambarīṣa—Prelude to Durvāsā’s Offense
भ्रातरोऽभाङ्क्त किं मह्यं भजाम पितरं तव । त्वां ममार्यास्तताभाङ्क्षुर्मा पुत्रक तदादृथा: ॥ २ ॥
bhrātaro ’bhāṅkta kiṁ mahyaṁ bhajāma pitaraṁ tava tvāṁ mamāryās tatābhāṅkṣur mā putraka tad ādṛthāḥ
ນາພາກະຖາມວ່າ “ພີ່ນ້ອງເອີຍ ໃນມໍລະດົກຂອງພໍ່ ພວກເຈົ້າໃຫ້ສ່ວນໃດແກ່ຂ້ອຍ?” ພີ່ໃຫຍ່ຕອບວ່າ “ສ່ວນຂອງເຈົ້າຄືພໍ່” ເມື່ອນາພາກະໄປຫາພໍ່ແລະກ່າວວ່າ “ພໍ່ເອີຍ ພີ່ໆ ໃຫ້ພໍ່ເປັນສ່ວນຂອງຂ້ອຍ” ພໍ່ຈຶ່ງກ່າວວ່າ “ລູກເອີຍ ຢ່າເຊື່ອຄໍາຫລອກລວງຂອງເຂົາ; ພໍ່ບໍ່ແມ່ນຊັບສິນຂອງເຈົ້າ”
This verse models steadiness and dharma: even when rejected by brothers, one should not become bitter, but continue honoring rightful duties and elders’ intentions.
She reassures him that the situation is not a personal failure; elders had sanctioned and desired the match/decision, so he should remain composed and act righteously.
When facing family conflict, avoid resentment, stay respectful in duty, and keep emotional balance—respond with integrity rather than retaliation.
