Sage Parāśara (teaching Maitreya)
This verse presents Vishnu as the indwelling Lord (inner ruler) of every embodied being, grounding cosmic order in divine immanence rather than a merely mechanical universe.
Parāśara states that Vishnu, while abiding within all bodies, performs the universal functions of origination (utpatti), continuance (sthiti), and withdrawal/restraint (saṃyama), making these processes expressions of one sovereign reality.
Vishnu is affirmed as Bhagavān—the supreme, all-pervading cause—whose presence within beings and governance of cosmic cycles supports core Vaishnava metaphysics emphasized by later Vishishtadvaita and Dvaita readings.
