Type: stotra
Offering: dipa
It teaches that sustained night-long vigilance and repeated worship through the night-watches purify the pashu (bound soul) and intensify bhakti toward Pati (Shiva), turning the mind away from tamas into steady devotion.
The instruction supports Saguna Shiva worship through regular, watch-by-watch pūjā—an approach commonly paired with Linga-archana during observances like Mahāśivarātri, where continuity of devotion is emphasized.
Keep jāgaraṇa (all-night vigil) and perform repeated pūjā each yāma, sustaining devotion with kīrtana (sacred singing) and other bhakti acts; this is typically complemented by mantra-japa such as the Pañcākṣarī (Om Namaḥ Śivāya).
