ಸೋಮ ಪವಮಾನನು ಪವಿತ್ರ (ಶೋಧಕ) ಮೂಲಕ ಸ್ವಯಂ ಶುದ್ಧನಾಗಿ ಯಜಮಾನರಿಗಾಗಿ ಹರಿಯಲಿ. ಅವನು ನೀರಿನ ಅಲೆ/ಧಾರೆಯಂತೆ ನಿರ್ಮಲವಾಗಿ, ತುಪ್ಪದಂತೆ ಪ್ರಕಾಶಮಾನವಾಗಿ, ಮಳೆಯ ಪೋಷಣೆಯನ್ನೂ ಮಹಾ ಆಹಾರ-ಶಕ್ತಿಯನ್ನೂ ನೀಡಲಿ. ರೋಗಮುಕ್ತತೆಯನ್ನು (ಅಯಕ್ಷ್ಮ) ದಯಪಾಲಿಸಿ, ರಕ್ಷಸ್ಸುಗಳನ್ನೂ ಶತ್ರುಬಲಗಳನ್ನೂ ದೂರ ಓಡಿಸಿ, ಪ್ರಾಚೀನ ಯಜ್ಞಶಕ್ತಿಯನ್ನು ಪುನಃ ಸ್ಥಾಪಿಸಿ, ಯಾಗವನ್ನು ಕಿರಣಮಯ ತೇಜಸ್ಸಿನಿಂದ ಹೊಳೆಯುವಂತೆ ಮಾಡಲಿ—ದೇವರಿಗೆ ಅತ್ಯಂತ ಪ್ರಿಯನಾದವನು (ದೇವವೀತಮಃ) ಆಗಿ.

पवस्व वृष्टिमा सु नो ऽपामूर्मिं दिवस्परि अयक्ष्मा बृहतीरिषः
ಹೇ ಸೋಮ, ನೀನು ನಿನ್ನನ್ನು ಶುದ್ಧಗೊಳಿಸು—ವೃಷ್ಟಿದಾಯಕ—ನಮಗೆ ಶುಭವಾಗಿ; ದ್ಯೌದಿಂದ ಇಳಿಯುವ ಅಪಾಂ ಊರ್ಮಿ, ಜಲತರಂಗದಂತೆ ಹರಿಯು; ಅಯಕ್ಷ್ಮ (ರೋಗರಹಿತ)ನಾಗಿ, ಮಹತ್ತಾದ ಇಷ್ (ಪೋಷಕ ತಾಜ್ಗಿ)ಯನ್ನು ನೀಡು.

तया पवस्व धारया यया गाव इहागमन् जन्यास उप नो गृहम्
ಆ ಧಾರೆಯಿಂದಲೇ ನೀನು ಪವಿತ್ರನಾಗು; ಅದರಿಂದ ಗಾವುಗಳು ಇಲ್ಲಿ ಬಂದಿವೆ; ಹಾಗೆಯೇ ಜನರೂ ನಮ್ಮ ಗೃಹದ ಬಳಿಗೆ ಬರಲಿ.

ಘೃತದಂತೆ ಆ ಧಾರೆಯಿಂದ ನೀನು ಶುದ್ಧಗೊಳಿಸು; ಯಜ್ಞಗಳಲ್ಲಿ ದೇವರುಗಳು ಅತ್ಯಧಿಕವಾಗಿ ಆಶ್ರಯಿಸುವವನೇ ನೀನು; ನಮಗಾಗಿ, ಹೇ ವೃಷ್ಟಿದಾಯಕ, ನೀನು ಪವಿತ್ರನಾಗು.

पवमानो असिष्यदद्रक्षांस्यपजङ्घनत् प्रत्नवद्रोचयन्रुचः
ಪವಿತ್ರಗೊಳ್ಳುವ ಪವಮಾನ ಸೋಮನು ಹರಿದು ಹೊರಟಿದ್ದಾನೆ; ಅವನು ಪ್ರಾಚೀನದಂತೆ ರಾಕ್ಷಸರನ್ನು ಓಡಿಸಿ, ತೇಜಸ್ವಿ ಕಿರಣಗಳನ್ನು ಪ್ರಕಾಶಮಾನಗೊಳಿಸಿದನು.
