माल्यवानुपदेशः
Malyavan’s Counsel, Portents in Laṅkā, and the Proposal of Alliance
वीचीकूचीतिवाश्य्नत्यश्शारिकावेश्मसुस्थिताः ।पतन्तिग्रथिताश्चापिनिर्जिताःकलहैषिणः ।।।।
vīcīkūcīti vāśyantyaḥ śārikā veśmasu sthitāḥ | patanti grathitāś cāpi nirjitāḥ kalahaiṣiṇaḥ ||
ಮನೆಗಳಲ್ಲಿ ಇರುವ ಶಾರಿಕೆಗಳು ವಿಚಿತ್ರ ‘ವೀಚೀಕೂಚೀ’ ಎಂಬ ಧ್ವನಿಯಿಂದ ಕೂಗುತ್ತವೆ; ಕಲಹಪ್ರಿಯ ಪಕ್ಷಿಗಳೂ ಜಗಳದಲ್ಲಿ ಸಿಕ್ಕಿಹಾಕಿಕೊಂಡು ಬೀಳುತ್ತವೆ—ಪರಾಜಿತರಾಗಿ—ಇದೂ ಅಶುಭ ನಿಮಿತ್ತ.
