सागरप्रशमनम् / The Pacification of the Ocean and the Building of Nala’s Bridge
विधास्येराम: येनापिविषहिष्येह्यहंतथा ।नग्राहाप्रहरिष्यन्तियावत्सेनातरिष्यति ।।।।हरीणांतरणेरामकरिष्यामियथास्थलम् ।
vidhāsye rāma yenāpi viṣahiṣye hy ahaṃ tathā | na grāhāḥ prahariṣyanti yāvat senā tariṣyati || harīṇāṃ taraṇe rāma kariṣyāmi yathā sthalam ||
ಹೇ ರಾಮನೇ! ನಾನು ಯಾವುದೋ ಉಪಾಯದಿಂದ ವ್ಯವಸ್ಥೆ ಮಾಡುತ್ತೇನೆ; ಈ ಹಾನಿಕರ ಜೀವಿಗಳನ್ನು ನಾನು ನಿಯಂತ್ರಿಸುತ್ತೇನೆ, ನಿನ್ನ ಸೇನೆ ದಾಟುವವರೆಗೆ ಗ್ರಾಹಗಳು ದಾಳಿ ಮಾಡದಂತೆ. ಹೇ ರಾಮ, ವಾನರರ ದಾಟುವಿಕೆಗೆ ನಾನು ಇದನ್ನು ನೆಲದಂತೆ ಮಾಡುತ್ತೇನೆ.
"O Rama! I shall arrange a base in such a mode, by means of which the entire army of Vanaras can cross over the passage and I will also be seizing the poisonous animals and not be aggressive."
Dharma includes responsible accommodation: without overturning cosmic order, the Ocean offers a righteous compromise—protecting the vulnerable and enabling a just mission.
The Ocean proposes practical assistance to Rāma: it will pacify dangerous sea-creatures so the vānara army can cross safely.
Benevolence and cooperation: the Ocean moves from refusal to constructive support, aligning help with lawful limits.
