सीताया अग्निप्रवेशः
Sita’s Ordeal by Fire / Agni-Pariksha
सातदश्रुतपूर्वंहिजनेमहतिमैथिली ।श्रुत्वाभर्तृर्वचोरूक्षंलज्जयावनताभवत् ।।।।
sā tadā śrutapūrvaṃ hi jane mahati maithilī | śrutvā bhartuḥ vaco rūkṣaṃ lajjayā avanatābhavat || 6.119.2 ||
ಆಮೇಲೆ ಮಹಾಜನಸಮಕ್ಷದಲ್ಲಿ ಪತಿಯ ಕಠೋರ ವಚನಗಳನ್ನು ಕೇಳಿ, ಮೈಥಿಲಿ—ಇದಕ್ಕೂ ಮುನ್ನ ಎಂದೂ ಕೇಳಿರದಂತೆ—ಲಜ್ಜೆಯಿಂದ ತಲೆಬಾಗಿಸಿ ಮುಖವನ್ನು ಕೆಳಗಿಳಿಸಿ ನಿಂತಳು.
