तीर-वर्णनम् / Rama’s Lament at Pampa and the Approach to Rishyamuka
अस्मिन्सानुनि रम्ये हि मत्तद्विजगणायुते।पश्येयं यदि तां कान्तां ततस्स्वस्ति भवेन्मम।।।।
asmin sānuni ramye hi matta-dvija-gaṇāyute |
paśyeyaṁ yadi tāṁ kāntāṁ tatas svasti bhaven mama || 4.1.102 ||
ಈ रम್ಯವಾದ ಪರ್ವತಢಾಳದಲ್ಲಿ, ಮತ್ತ ಪಕ್ಷಿಗಳ ಗುಂಪಿನಿಂದ ತುಂಬಿರುವ ಈ ಸ್ಥಳದಲ್ಲಿ, ನಾನು ನನ್ನ ಪ್ರಿಯೆಯನ್ನು ನೋಡಬಹುದಾದರೆ—ಅಷ್ಟೇ ನನ್ನಿಗೆ ಕ್ಷೇಮವಾಗುವುದು.
'If I find my dear beloved here on these mountain slopes full of passionate birds how happy will I not feel!
Dharma here is steadfast loyalty: Rama’s sense of ‘svasti’ (well-being) is tied to reunion with his rightful spouse, not to distraction or substitution.
Rama imagines finding Sita in the scenic mountain landscape; the atmosphere of spring heightens both hope and longing.
Constancy in love and purpose—Rama’s emotional orientation remains fixed on Sita and the duty to recover her.
