FAQs

Sūta is speaking, introducing a past event where Jaimini questioned Vyāsa (Satyavatī’s son), and Vyāsa began the narration.

It signals a layered, teacher–disciple transmission: Sūta recounts an earlier dialogue in which Jaimini asks and Vyāsa answers, establishing authority and continuity.

The verse highlights disciplined inquiry (Jaimini’s questioning) and responsible instruction (Vyāsa’s narration), modeling how sacred knowledge is sought and conveyed.
