Educational Q&A

Even in moments of martial urgency, one should uphold decorum: acknowledging heroes and honoring elders before acting. The verse frames strength as disciplined and ethically situated—power expressed without abandoning respect and social duty.

After addressing the brave warriors and respected elders, the figure associated with the Gāṇḍīva (Arjuna) sounds the bow so loudly that it seems to make the whole world reverberate—announcing presence, resolve, and the imminent turn toward open conflict.
