इषुभिर्बहुभिस्तूर्ण समरे लोमवाहिभि: । अदूरात् पर्यवस्थाप्य पूरयामासुरादृता:,उन्होंने समरभूमिमें थोड़ी ही दूरपर पार्थकी गतिको कुण्ठित करके बड़े चावसे बहुसंख्यक पंखयुक्त बाणोंकी बौछार करते हुए उन्हें तुरंत दँक दिया
vaiśampāyana uvāca | iṣubhir bahubhis tūrṇaṃ samare lomavāhibhiḥ | adūrāt paryavasthāpya pūrayāmāsur ādarāt ||
ವೈಶಂಪಾಯನನು ಹೇಳಿದರು—ಸಮರದಲ್ಲಿ ಅವರು ದೂರವಿಲ್ಲದ ಸ್ಥಳದಿಂದಲೇ ಅವನನ್ನು ತ್ವರಿತವಾಗಿ ಸುತ್ತುವರಿದು, ರೋಮಾಂಚಕರ ವೇಗದ ಅನೇಕ ಬಾಣಗಳಿಂದ ಉತ್ಸಾಹದಿಂದ ಅವನನ್ನು ಮುಚ್ಚಿಬಿಟ್ಟರು।
