Chapter 55
स्रजो<्डर्जुनशरै: शीर्ण शुष्यत्पुष्पं हिरण्मयम् । छत्राणि च पताकाश्न खे दधार सदागति:,अर्जुनके बाणोंसे छिन्न-भिन्न हो हारसे टूटकर बिखरे हुए स्वर्णचम्पाके सूखे फूल, छत्र और पताकाओं आदिको वायु कुछ देरतक आकाशमें ही धारण किये रहती थी (बाणोंके जालपर रुक जानेसे वे जल्दी नीचे नहीं गिरते थे)
srajo 'rjunaśaraiḥ śīrṇāḥ śuṣyatpuṣpaṃ hiraṇmayam | chatrāṇi ca patākāś ca khe dadhāra sadāgatiḥ ||
ವೈಶಂಪಾಯನನು ಹೇಳಿದರು—ಅರ್ಜುನನ ಬಾಣಗಳಿಂದ ಹಾರಗಳು ಚೂರುಚೂರಾಗಿ ಒಡೆದವು; ಅವುಗಳ ಸ್ವರ್ಣಮಯ ಪುಷ್ಪಗಳು ಒಣಗಿ ಚದುರಿದವು. ಛತ್ರಗಳು ಮತ್ತು ಪತಾಕೆಗಳೂ ಬಾಣಗಳ ದಟ್ಟ ಜಾಲದಲ್ಲಿ ಸಿಕ್ಕಿಹಾಕಿಕೊಂಡುದರಿಂದ, ಸದಾ ಚಲಿಸುವ ಗಾಳಿ ಅವುಗಳನ್ನು ಕೆಲಕಾಲ ಆಕಾಶದಲ್ಲೇ ತಡೆದು ನಿಲ್ಲಿಸಿತು; ಅವು ತಕ್ಷಣ ನೆಲಕ್ಕೆ ಬೀಳಲಿಲ್ಲ.

During the battle episode, Arjuna’s arrows cut through garlands and royal decorations; the broken golden, drying flowers, along with parasols and flags, remain hanging in the air for a while because they are caught amid the dense flight of arrows and borne by the wind.
