स चापि पार्थ बहुभि: पृषत्कै- वैंकर्तनो मेघ इवाभ्यवर्षत्‌ । तथैव कर्ण च किरीटमाली संछादयामास शितै: पृषत्कैः

sa cāpi pārtha bahubhiḥ pṛṣatkaiḥ vaikarṇano megha ivābhyavarṣat | tathaiva karṇaṃ ca kirīṭamālī saṃchādayāmāsa śitaiḥ pṛṣatkaiḥ ||

ವೈಶಂಪಾಯನನು ಹೇಳಿದನು—ವೈಕರ್ತನ ಕರ್ಣನೂ ಪಾರ್ಥ ಅರ್ಜುನನ ಮೇಲೆ ಮೇಘದಂತೆ ಅನೇಕ ಬಾಣಗಳನ್ನು ಸುರಿಸಿದನು. ಹಾಗೆಯೇ ಕಿರೀಟಧಾರಿ ಅರ್ಜುನನೂ ತೀಕ್ಷ್ಣ ಶರಗಳಿಂದ ಕರ್ಣನನ್ನು ಮುಚ್ಚಿದನು.
